A walk through the Gandhi Smriti Museum with Aditya Verghese
Gandhi Smriti, formerly known as Birla House, is a location of immense historical significance. It is the place where Mahatma Gandhi, one of the tallest leaders of India's freedom struggle, spent the last 144 days of his life before his assassination on January 30, 1948.
Today, the site serves as a museum and memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi's life and teachings. Here, visitors can reflect on the ideas and principles that he stood for, including non-violence, peace, and social justice.
On this walk, you will have the opportunity to explore the grounds and buildings of the Gandhi Smriti. You will be able to see the room where Gandhi spent his final days, as well as the spot on the grounds where he was assassinated alongside exhibits and displays about Gandhi's life and legacy.
